I really hope he has a successful career as a manager.

I remember when we signed up from Blackburn and the highlight reels available and he looked like the second coming of John Terry but potentially even better.

I know some might dismiss that but he really did look that good, it’s so unfortunate injuries hampered his whole career.

Its been said Fergie left knowing the club needed a rebuild but he was always planning for the future and at the time a potential future CB partnership of Smalling and Jones looked really promising.

I always felt people who have gone through real adversity make great leaders. I hope he has an incredible career in management. He deserves it!

Shame his career was riddled with injuries. Hope he has a successful time as a coach. Shows a lot of character to want a challenge like this.

  4. I’m glad he’s refocused his career onto management now.

There’s so many players that quit the sport altogether after injury or falling out of love for the game. Some even finding it difficult to move on, and their mental health struggling to overcome the huge gap in their lives.
