Regardless of the opposition and not having a proper test yet. Being at the top of the table currently and only 2 goals conceded is seriously impressive wherever we end up (assuming it’s top 4 that is).

  2. Well yea, when you haven’t played a team in the top half of the table and they all play a low block, keeping clean sheets is pretty easy.

They were also saying the same thing about Spurs last season but for attacking prowess under Ange. The honeymoon could get found out. Same with our own Maresca. That is just the new manager effect. Give it a season

  4. I think they’ve already blown it by losing to Forest. You get to lose maybe two or three games a season now if you want to win. You can’t waste one of those defeats on Forest at home.

    Christ.
All these “they’ve not played anyone decent yet”.
You can only beat what is in front of you. Considering we’ve only conceded two goals so far I would say that’s a pretty decent start.

And as others have pointed out. Arsenal have conceded more goals against Leicester and Southampton at home than we have against everyone we’ve played. And with all due respect to Leicester and Southampton aren’t they worse than who we’ve played? đŸ€·â€â™‚ïž

  6. You win leagues first and foremost with attack, not defence (obviously you generally need to be at least pretty good at both).

Despite the number of good attackers, we’ve yet to see if Liverpool can put together a great attacking force. They’ve stuttered against Palace, Forest, Wolves, Bologna, and first half against Ipswich – most of the games they’ve played. None of the attackers have looked convincing in more than a couple of games.

  7. It’s obviously too early to say that Slot’s system will challenge for trophies over the course of a full season. The team haven’t really rotated outside of a couple positions (attacking mid, left back, and left wing), and haven’t had to deal with serious injury concerns up until now. Slot is certainly putting more emphasis on defensive solidity, but there have still been noticeable deficiencies that might have been exploited by a more talented opponent. The next run of games between international breaks will give us better insight. Slot has been given an unusually easy bedding in period and made good on it – whether or not that momentum carries forward into a tougher run of fixtures is a separate issue.

  8. Think people are getting too excited about liverpools defense. They’ve had the easiest fixtures by far. Palace have been pathetic

Bournemouth were able to play through them pretty easily it was a miracle they didn’t concede in that game.

The real tests begin for them beginning now

  9. Well if Palace had a striker that knew how to shoot away from the keeper they would have lost yesterday’s game
