    **Key Bits**

Erik ten Hag’s future as Manchester United manager remains in the balance ahead of a scheduled executive meeting this week, although the Dutchman believes he retains the faith of club bosses heading into the international break, sources have told ESPN.

Co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is set to attend the pre-planned meeting in London on Tuesday alongside other members of the United hierarchy, including right-hand man Sir Dave Brailsford, CEO Omar Berrada, sporting director Dan Ashworth and technical director Jason Wilcox. Joel Glazer, part of the majority ownership group, is also set to attend.

**A source has told ESPN that performances and results this season have caused alarm.**

Ten Hag’s future is set to be discussed by Ratcliffe and his team on Tuesday.

**Other topics on the agenda include a briefing ahead of the January transfer window.**

**According to sources, Ten Hag spoke to United’s leadership team following the game at Villa Park and was not given an indication that his job is under immediate threat, leading him to believe he is safe for now.**

The 54-year-old has now gone on holiday after granting time off to first-team players not involved in internationals over the next two weeks. United are next in action against Brentford at Old Trafford on Oct. 19.

**Ahead of the executive committee meeting in London on Tuesday, Ratcliffe and Joel Glazer met at Old Trafford on Monday.**

**A source has told ESPN that the conversation was “long-standing and for various meetings.”**

Glazer was due to attend a quarterly fans advisory board meeting at Old Trafford on Monday. Speaking after the draw with Villa — United’s fifth straight game without a win — Ten Hag said he expected to keep his job.

  3. He seemed pretty relaxed in yesterday’s press conferences. I hope his delutions are shattered as soon as possible.

  4. Tbh I wouldn’t read much into it. It would be highly unlikely they’d tell him straight after the game he’s fired if they haven’t met as a group to discuss. Long live the king until there is another one etc

  5. So the board is seemingly too cowardly to make this decision themselves and are instead leaving it to the supporters/fans to force them into this? I thought INEOS would be different but apparently not.

  6. I think the odds he’s gone before the start of November are incredibly low, unfortunately

Surely, the writing is on the wall with this one. The hope or possibility of him turning this around is non-existent. I don’t see much point in prolonging the damage any further.

  8. How many times do we have to go through this nonsense where they wait and wait before sacking a manager? Has nothing changed since they came in? Both Ole and Mourinho were here too long, and both those seasons were then wasted. Get rid now

  9. So if he gets a couple of good results he will stay and repeat the circle. If he gets sacked he will get £17M. The guy literally win both ways, only the fans suffer

  10. Regardless of whether anyone thinks ETH should stay or go, it’s absolutely insane the amount of shit that’s written about Manchester United and the level of scrutiny. I get that United brings clicks and others hate us for ruining their childhoods, and that I am talking from within my own United bubble, but it just feels like no other club has to put up with so much shit spewing.

“Manager of under performing team takes holiday after dismal record worst start for team in PL. News at 10”

    That should be the headline.

Want to keep your cush well compensated dream job? Stay up all night and skip holidays until the issues are fixed and you have a “system” that works, because the current one simply doesn’t work.
