I was curious the other day to see who we describe as legends and I came across this list. It’s so weird and bad I’m wondering if there’s external reasons for it I.e. controversial views, liscencing etc. I love VDV as much as the next man but can he be considered a legend for 2 seasons here?

I think you have to be retired. Kane isn’t listed either. Expecting Bale to be listed soon.

But I agree about VdV and even Berbatov, even if he won a League Cup. 2 seasons is way too short to be considered a legend unless you win the PL or CL.

Not to derail but Berbatov being labelled a Spurs legend has never sat well with me. Absolutely class player but he never showed an ounce of affection to us and quite openly declares his loyalty to Man Utd.

Totally snaked us the way he forced a move on deadline day and to this day, he always has this air of thinking he’s better than us.

  3. Perryman is definitely a weird one to exclude. I’d imagine in 15 years Son, Kane and Lloris will be in there. Hopefully by then we’ll be moaning about the omissions of Bergvall, Gray and Moore.

not having Danny Blanchflower is weird tbh, that one quote of his is a core part of club identity

then you have Berbatov but not Bale

  5. Everyone has a different opinion but VdV is definitely a legend. The transfer saga to get him to spurs from madrid was a fiasco, he then came in and smashed it while repping spurs the whole way. Honestly, can’t describe how amazing and storybook it felt, especially that first season. It’s one of those spells where you had to experience it or else it just looks a bit meh
