Is it just me or Pulisic barely even played for us?
I have no memory of him ever being good for us. I remember players before him and after him but somehow he is just a blank in my memory. And we sold him for almost 60mil. How good was he?
He was a sub that started due to injuries. I’ve maintained that he was mediocre when he played but he’s definitely gotten better over the years. 60m was a deal proposed by mad men and it’s ridiculous that anyone paid that for him.

Don’t blame you tbh
He debuted in Tuchel’s first season but played only a handful of minutes.
In the next one, he was overshadowed by Dembele,
The season after that was the Bosz-Stöger season, which was probably the most forgettable season in the last decade (4th place on goal difference ugh), also coincidentally was the season where he played the most minutes.
After that, he got injured and never managed to get his spot back from Sancho and Jacob Bruun-Larsen (lmao).
44 g/a is alright for a sub I guess, but not really memorable
60M for him was a daylight robbery tho, you can go to the transfer thread on r/soccer and see it for yourself lmao.
Edit: I didn’t expect Pulisic to be so overrated still, but considering this sub’s demographics, I’m not surprised.

He came through at basically the same time that Dembele and then Jadon Sancho were hitting their strides. At their peaks, Dembele and Sancho were better players.

I think he was often underused by coaches as a starter because he’s a direct player. Most coaches, at least then, preferred ball retaining players to start because the game was 0-0 and they didn’t want to risk losing the ball. He’d often come off the bench if the game was still tied late or if we were behind because he’d be certain to create chances. He is an excellent dribbler or at least that’s what I remember.

I’m gonna be honest he never was THAT player for us like dembele and Sancho were. I didn’t understand how Chelsea came up with that price tag at the time. He only scored 13 goals in the league for us over 3,5 seasons. Probably his most memorable goal was the one against Benfica when Auba also scored a hattrick. Safe to say he definetly is worth over 60 million with the current form he’s having, still a good deal for us since Sancho turned out to be a way better player for us than Pulisic ever was.
