Good backup for Valle when he’s fit.

It might put a nail in the Greg Taylor coffin but I could live with that.

Signing a left back who can’t stay fit on (I’m assuming) large wages to play instead of your outgoing left back who is always available seems…like a Rangers 2016-2023 move.

Sure I’ll be proven wrong but can’t see how this one works out.

  3. This only makes sense if we have another good left back – Taylor if he signs a new contract / Valle if he kicks on and signs permanent / another new left back brought in – and we wrap KT up in cottonwool and manage his workload. KT would be a CL level player we’re crying out for and the only reason we are even entertaining the idea of getting him back is because he’s crocked. Have the other left back (preferably Greg Taylor) play most of the league matches, keep KT for CL and big domestic games. He’ll still obviously pick up knocks but if we’re sensible the risks can be massively reduced.

I also realise this is still all very unlikely and I have an extremely simplistic view on this, but let a b(h)oy dream!

  4. I think it’s a certainty that he comes back next summer. It’s not a coincidence that Celtic are dragging their heels on a new deal for Greg Taylor.

It’s a massive gamble. He comes in and stays fit he’s probably the best player in the league, but there’s every chance he makes about ten appearances a season for four years.

I really do worry about his injury record – we’ve seen how bad it can be, given how responsible for it we are.

If we could sign him and then give him a good rest to get him back to full fitness then maybe. He’d need a good back up, in any case, cause there’s every chance he gets crocked again.

  6. Resigning him should be a priority if he is available. Even if he only plays in European games and priority domestic fixtures.

He’s still only 27, and even with his injury problems you’d expect a club in a decent league to make him an offer. A slower-paced league would hopefully see him stay fit for longer too, he’d be a walking target up here.

No doubt that when fit he’s a top top talent . He will make a massive impact on those 3 games each season

  9. Would be a crazy move unless he is willing to play for peanuts. Hip injuries to knee injuries and now three consecutive hamstring injuries, it’s not looking good for him.

  10. 24/25 Hamstring injury 119 days –

    That is aggressive

  11. Seems like a risk for Celtic, even if he takes a wage cut he’s still gonna be on very good money and is made of glass.

  12. I got the impression, from reading articles about his time with Real Sociedad, that he wasn’t feeling really settled in London for whatever reason (the injuries can’t have helped). He seemed to absolutely thrive on loan even though he was never fully fit [Kieran Tierney: ‘I was up against Mbappé … it helps you in the long run’ | Real Sociedad | The Guardian](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2024/feb/14/kieran-tierney-i-was-up-against-mbappe-it-helps-you-in-the-long-run)

  13. He’s been absolute dog shit at Arsenal. Celtic better be made to reimburse every penny the Gunners spent on him 🔴⚪
