Pogba opens up on his doping ban hell after being hit with four-year suspension. As he reveals all about his relationship with Jose Mourinho and when he wanted to leave Man United.
But just as it appeared that Pogba’s United career was on an upward curve the midfielder has divulged for the first time that his heart simply was not in it.
‘I will tell you something I’ve never told anyone,’ Pogba teases.
‘The year Jose went and Ole came, it was my best season at United but after the last game I told Ole and Ed Woodward that I thought it was my last year and that I wanted to leave.
‘I was 27 back then, it didn’t work out the way I wanted. I gave my best but I didn’t see the club going upwards.
Though Solskjaer’s half-season in charge was his best for United, Pogba admitted he wanted to leave at the end of the campaign
‘Manchester City and Liverpool were better than us and they were improving. Ole said yes (to me leaving) and that he would talk to Ed.
‘My head was already that I wanted to go but I came back for pre season because I wanted to be professional.
‘I spoke to Ed to try to make a move but he blocked it. I didn’t want to play for United anymore but I had to be professional.
‘Mentally I wasn’t there and then I got the injuries.”

All I can see is gigachad Ole knowing that it’s okay for players to leave.

> At the centre of the scandal was a supplement prescribed to Pogba by a doctor in the USA. He had taken them before but they had never sparked a positive reading.
>> “…but if you go to a doctor and they tell you to take this two times a day, what do you do?’”
1. Not go to a doctor in the US when you’re a european footballer, b/c they have no reason to be familiar with the doping regulations you’re required to abide by.
This is basic expectations of professional athletes.

Who gives a flying fuck about this guy? Such a talent but wasted due to his ego and “celebrity”. Let bygones be bygones and be thankful he’s not plaguing our club anymore.

Such a waste really. Supremely talented but just the wrong mind to push that talent.

We could all see he didnt want to stay, Woodward chose commercial revenue. Should have let him leave, would have been much better for everyone

Should have sold him there and then – Pep dissembles quite a lot imo but I think he was playing it straight when he said that if any player wants to leave City whilst under his management to the point where it’s more than a whim or temporary unhappiness then they can (within reason in terms of the price – e.g. Haaland wouldn’t go for under 9 figures etc). Selling them at those moments doesn’t always represent point of maximum profit – more often than not it means a slight haircut compared to current market-value, but works out better longer-term. There’ve been chances to sell a, let’s say, ‘not-especially happy’ Rashford in the last 12 months, for instance, which I think the club will end up regretting passing over if and when they take the medium-term view (even accounting for non-playing value like marketing etc)…

Should have never bring him back. The incompetence around this club were unbelievable. It’s our curse that we are so big. If the club had fallen hard money wise Glazers would have sold us years ago

2. If you do go to a doctor in the US, [run the recommendation by your club’s doctors, rather than just assuming it’s okay.](https://www.reddit.com/r/Juve/comments/16guvvt/pogba_yesterday_told_the_juventus_doctors_that_he/)
