Was going to comment about how league 2 the ref was but the comments already done it. Why are refs never brought in for questioning after games like this? Like genuinely can anyone answer that? Surely in arguably the biggest league in football there must be a standard of refereeing they have to conform to?

Blatant foul by Trent on Sancho not given as a penalty and Curtis Jones handballed it 2 seconds before they were awarded a penalty. That’s what’s decided the game.

Liverpool deserved that. Clinical and resolute and the experienced shone through. Am pleased with our performance overall,but need to be more ruthless. Glad we made it more of a contest even if Liverpool are clearly a cut above us. Jones, Salah and Trent were magnificent while i think our best players were Lavia and Caicedo.
