Scoring system is not the issue, the issue is you not holding all players to the same standard. Gray is playing poorly most of the time but you give him 6s and 7s because he's young and playing outside of his best position. Werner is getting high marks for getting into certain positions even though that means nothing at the end of the day if he can't score or set up a goal. Not to mention Solanke, I understand his work ethic and off the ball movement but a striker who scored no goals in six games should absolutely be in the lower tiers.
The scoring system is ok but I fancy Ben and Sim could give themselves a bit more latitude. Maybe take the score then add a sort of 'from the stands' perspective to develop a more realistic overall score for each player. COYS!
Scoring needs tweaking based on opponents.
Maybe use Tottenhams own ticket category system to add multipliers to players scores.
Score 8 against Man City or Liverpool could be more valuable than against a Southampton or Leicester.
Perhaps you could try a weighted average. Micky’s 5 against city is currently given the same weighting as all his other games. If you account for minutes played, maybe this’ll look different.
However, it’ll probably be a bit annoying adding minutes played for each player on the spreadsheets. So, quite understandable if this isn’t done.
On the other hand, when a player gets a red, then that game is weighted really low. Unless you make red cards an exception and weight these as 90 mins.
Is this fair? Maybe. Maybe not. I’m not too sure.
